There is so much to see and do in Bendigo, and so much that can be done on foot. There are a number of motels opposite the famous Lake Weeroona which is a great place to take a walk around or to stop and let the kids enjoy the adventure playground. Just back from a few days rediscovering the joys of Bendigo. This time we couldn’t organise appropriate accommodation through the http://www.bendigo.ws/Bendigo-Accommodation/Bendigo-Accommodation/Bendigo-Accommodation.html page but still managed to find some excellent self contained accommodation. And while this accommodation does not appear on http://www.bendigo.ws/ I can help but rave about it…. Hyacinth House is a self contained cottage a short walk to the centre of town. It is run by Allan Trevena who supplied a property that really made us feel like we had a home away from home. Fresh bread, juice, muffins, biscuits and milk on arrival. The pantry was full of various cereal options and property was spotless. This property has been been operating for number of years but clearly the owners reinvest regularly to ensure a high stand is maintained. Contact Allan direct at bendigohyacinthhouse@hotmail.com .
